OUTREACH PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE
WHY DO WE WANT TO SHARE PERMACULTURE WITH COMMUNITIES?
Knowledge is power. Lack of knowledge is lack of power.
Lack of access to education is common throughout Ghana and its neighbouring countries,
particularly in practical sustainability that is directly relevant to people's lives.
With the relevant knowledge and skills, anybody can turn their land into an abundant paradise full of food and other beneficial materials. They would be able to meet all of their own needs and still have a healthy surplus to sell.
But how to get this knowledge? And who has the time to study or enough money to pay for courses, books or travel costs when they are busy working hard to survive in difficult conditions?
Through teaching people permaculture invaluable knowledge is shared throughout communities. People return home with plenty of learning to pass on to their family and neighbours.
The way we teach is very practical, meaning that this education is not limited to those who are literate. Everyone can engage and apply this knowledge with success!
Once people see the beneficial results these systems and practices deliver, they want to try it too!
We are working to train more local permaculture teachers who can facilitate workshops in rural communities across Ghana, taking sustainability education to the people! This makes our work inclusive and accessible to all.
Through permaculture education, people are able to redesign their homes, lifestyles and livelihoods, eliminating problems such as food instability, poverty and environmental degradation.
